Developer API keys

Developer API keys let trusted tools operate your SteadyRenew account through the public API.

When to use an API key

Use an API key when you want a script, assistant, or automation tool to:
  • List subscriptions.
  • Analyze spending.
  • Find duplicate subscriptions.
  • Create or update subscriptions after confirmation.
  • Read audit history.
Do not use API keys in public browser code or shared prompts.

Create a key

  1. Sign in.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Go to API & MCP.
  4. Enter a key name.
  5. Choose read/write or read-only permissions.
  6. Create the key.
  7. Copy the full key immediately, then use Copy to Agent to connect.
The full key is shown only once. After that, the app only shows the key prefix.

Revoke a key

Open Settings > API & MCP and revoke any key you no longer use. Revoking a key stops future API requests that use it.

Limits

All signed-in users can create API keys. Defaults on both plans are 5 active keys and 60 requests per minute per account, shared across keys. The API & MCP screen shows your current plan and deployment limits.

Safety tips

  • Use one key per integration.
  • Revoke keys that are no longer needed.
  • Rotate a key if it may have appeared in logs, screenshots, or prompts.
  • Choose read-only permissions for agents that only query or analyze data.
